Muddy Dog Jeep Tales with Rhonda Brewer
I would like to introduce you to another amazing Jeep Lady. Rhonda Brewer is one of the first ladies that I met when I got my jeep. She and her husband, Ron, have helped me in so many ways. They had me follow them out on their land and showed me how to read the land and how to approach different obstacles. I can still hear “rock not stump” when I am riding. There is this one spot where the rock is climbable but bigger, the stump look easier and smaller, but the angle is not right. Rhonda was with me when I busted windshield on my JKU right after it came out of the shop for something else, but we won’t tell that story. We are also tied together by one day in time when we each lost a parent within hours of each other, from totally different circumstances and locations. We are bound by good times and one sorrowful one. She is great to wheel with because she cares about not tearing stuff up (the windshield was 100% my fault).
What is your Jeep's name and how did you decide on the name?
Silver Bullet . This name was given on the trails when she was still stock because she was able to make the trip with no problems. (there is another reason but we will keep it PG)
What or who got you addicted to jeeps?
With me living 1 mile off the road for my entire life, I have always been into the outdoors. One of the first vehicles I asked for was a 4x4 Toyota Truck stick shift because I like the look of the Emergency Break ( I know crazy reason to want the truck) But that is where it all began, I would take the truck in the woods on the property as a teenager and just love the feel. Then life happened and I got out of it until I married my husband and we got back into the off-roading life
How many Jeeps have you owned / own?
I own 2 Jeeps. A 2013 JKU (Silver Bullet) and a Jeep Cherokee (currently doesn’t Run but will one day hopefully)
What mods are you most proud of or were the most excited to get?
I was most excited for the lift and other items that was being completed at Dixie Run a few years ago. Because that is when she went from stock to being able to do more moderate trails .
What do you like the best about Jeeps and the Jeep community?
I love the fact that no matter what you will always have a family when you purchase a jeep. You don’t just get a vehicle you get a life time family. I have met some amazing people since owning a jeep and I wouldn’t have wanted my life any other way.
What is your favorite Jeep story?
Wow thinking back there are so many stories from old rides to just hanging out with friends. My first time at Golden Mountain Park , Sparta, Tn. will always be one for the books. It was really when my jeep started to grow up, she received new tires a lift and a winch right there as part of Dixie Run. They completed the job with in record time.
What is your favorite trails and why?
Golden Mountain Offroad Park. It was one of my favorites of all time and I hope one day it will open back up. I never got to run some of the trails in my own jeep but wish it was open so I could run them now.
Do you have any Jeep pets?
I have a Standard Poodle named Audi. I rescued him off facebook and he has been a joy to have in our family. He has not yet been on the trails but he does LOVE to ride in the jeep.
Any favorite groups you want to give a shout out to?
There is not one particular group to shout out as there are so many amazing local groups/clubs. However, one I would shout out is Southern Four Wheel Drive . They are doing amazing things for the offroad community and if it wasn’t for them we would not have most of the parks we have now. Jeeping is fun if you have never been you should go at least one time in your life!!!
Rhonda lives in Mt Juliet, TN., is married to Ron Brewer, and has 2 children: Matt (bonus child) and Clay. Other than being outdoors on the trials she loves to make things with her hands, one of those being Crocheted items. She looks forward to getting back out on the trails very soon and hopes to meet more amazing jeepers! She is often hosting movie nights by the bonfire at her house. Tell her you met her here. She is an amazing lady.
